Our lawyer Ms Aleksandra Rajić gave a lecture on “Electronic documents in Serbian labour law – an example of unbalanced digitalization” at this year’s IRZ Alumni Meeting. The event took place on the weekend of 7 to 9 December 2023 in Belgrade and was organized by the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) and the publishing house C.H. Beck to promote an exchange on news from German and national law of participants.

Ms. Rajić informed the audience about the discrepancy between the Serbian Labor Law and the Law on Electronic Documents. Although electronically signed documents have been permitted in Serbia for years, employment contracts, dismissal warnings and other documents in the field of labor law must still be in written form. The consequences of this disagreement in practice as well as proposed changes to the law were topics that triggered an exciting discussion among the participants.
